Priscilla’s Bread Not Bombs run is a simple, relational outreach built around delivering bread directly to people in the community. Each delivery provides practical support while also creating a regular point of connection.
Bread is shared door-to-door with individuals and households who benefit from consistent food support. The focus is not just the bread itself, but the contact — a quick conversation, a check-in, and the reassurance that someone will return.
This approach helps build trust over time. Rather than requiring people to attend a service or travel, the Bread Basket meets people where they are. The deliveries are flexible, shaped by availability and need, and often include other items when they’re on hand.
Priscilla’s bread run works alongside the Shared Table, food hampers, and other outreach activities. Together, they form a simple network of support — some public, some quiet, all grounded in dignity and relationship.
What began as a small act of sharing bread continues to grow naturally, one delivery and one connection at a time.
Beyond door to door deliveries Bread Not Bombs also delivers baskets and parcels of food to community locations that align with our values of mutual aid, hospitality, and inclusion. These may include churches, community housing complexes, supported accommodation sites, neighbourhood centres, and other grassroots spaces where people gather and support one another.
By working collaboratively with trusted community hubs, we can extend the reach of donated food, strengthen local relationships, and ensure food becomes a catalyst for connection, conversation, and community care. These deliveries are not simply about providing food relief; they are about supporting networks of kindness and creating opportunities for people to share resources, build relationships, and participate in community life.
