We’ve launched a new space at fnbhobart.org to share the evolving work of Hobart’s food outreach.
At its heart, this project is simple. Food is shared directly with people who need it — through Sunday distribution, door-to-door bread delivery, and informal outreach across the community. There’s no complex system, just people supporting one another in practical ways.
Each week, baskets of food are made available and shared. Alongside this, Priscilla’s Bread Basket delivers bread to individuals and households, creating consistent contact and quiet support. These small, regular actions help build trust and connection over time.
The direction is growing organically. We’re exploring a weekly shared food hub where people can drop off items, contribute to fuel costs, and participate in giving. Delivery routes may expand, reaching more people through simple, relational contact. Shared Table gatherings will also connect with this work, creating spaces where food and conversation come together.
We’re also hoping to build partnerships with local growers and bakeries, allowing surplus food to flow directly into the community. The goal isn’t to build a large service, but a living network of giving — flexible, human, and community-led.
This website will document that journey. We’ll share updates, reflections, and opportunities to participate. Whether through dropping off food, supporting deliveries, or simply connecting, everyone has a role.
Food is the starting point. Connection is the outcome. Community is what grows from there.
