StreetShelter — A bed for the night.

Sometimes the biggest difference starts with something very small — a safe place to sleep.

Through connections made at FNB Hobart, we began thinking about practical ways we could support people experiencing homelessness beyond a meal or conversation. StreetShelter is one small grassroots response — transforming a car into a simple overnight shelter, with a made-up bed, warmth, safety, and connection to housing support where possible.

It’s not a permanent answer to homelessness. But for someone exhausted, vulnerable, or sleeping rough, one night off the streets can matter deeply.

StreetShelter is about dignity, trust, and human connection. A reminder that community care can begin with whatever we already have available.
