Kitchen Hygiene and Safety Basics

  1. Handwashing: Always wash your hands with soap and water before and after handling food.
  2. Food Handling: Use gloves when needed, and ensure any cuts or wounds are covered.
  3. Temperature Control: Keep hot food hot (above 60°C) and cold food cold (below 5°C).
  4. Food Storage: Label and date all food containers. Store items properly in the fridge or pantry.
  5. Surface Cleanliness: Clean and sanitize all surfaces before and after use.
  6. Packing Down: Follow designated procedures for packing down the kitchen and cleaning equipment.
